THANKSGIVING
It has been confirmed that thanksgiving is a character of every genuine child of God. Psalms 150:6 admonishes that everything that has breath should praise the Lord. Beloved, to be alive is to praise God. Your life is the licence God gave you to praise Him. And you are expected to keep praising God as long as you live.
SCRIPTURE: Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. John 11:41.
The truth is, something dies in people when they dont praise God. It is the living that praise God, not the dead. If you are alive and you dont want to praise God, it shows that you are not really living, because to live is to praise God.
Now, what does thanksgiving imply? Thanksgiving implies or communicates understanding. Thanksgiving shows someone has understanding of issues in the realm of the spirit.
Now, what kind of understanding? Romans 9:16 says, "So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy".
Thanksgiving communicates the understanding that you are not powerful enough to keep yourself alive. It is the realisation of the fact that it is not your education or your strength that has kept you alive. You come to a point where you know that it is not your connection or contacts that made you what you are today.
So, thanksgiving communicates deep spiritual understanding; it shows your understanding of the issues of life. This means, if someone refuses to give thanks to God; it shows their lack of understanding. There is something people of ingratitude dont know: ingratitude is a display of lack of understanding; it is a show of foolishness.
Beloved, do not entertain foolishness in life; display understanding by thanksgiving.
